Do I need a Manual Handling certificate to work in the UK?
What the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require.
English
Short answer
You don't need to bring your own certificate by law. Your employer must avoid hazardous manual handling so far as is reasonably practicable, assess what cannot be avoided, reduce the risk and give you information (MHOR 1992 reg. 4), and provide training on recruitment and when risks change (MHSWR 1999 reg. 13).
